Eastern San Miguel County in southwestern Colorado... * Until 545 PM MDT. * At 242 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Sawpit, Fall Creek and Placerville. This includes the following streams and drainages... Fall Creek, Deep Creek, Big Bear Creek, Muddy Creek, Saltado Creek, South Fork San Miguel River, Dolores River, Specie Creek, San Miguel River, Leopard Creek and Alder Creek.
Instructions
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely. Highway 145 is prone to rockslides and mudslides in heavy rain. Stay alert for rocks and debris on roads, and avoid driving on flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
