Description

What

Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

Where

A portion of Utah, including the following areas, San Rafael Swell and Capitol Reef National Park and Vicinity.

When

From Wednesday afternoon through late Wednesday night.

Impacts

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, dry washes, slot canyons, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations such as slickrock areas and recent burn scars.

Additional details

- Deep moisture will remain in place across the region. Several disturbances will fuel development of thunderstorms with rainfall rates in excess of 0.25 to 0.50 inches per hour. In areas with training thunderstorms, rainfall rates will exceed 0.50 inches per hour. This will cause flash flooding in areas such as normally dry washes, slot canyons, and slickrock areas. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
